Product Innovation Manager (m/f/x)

 

Your Key Responsibilities

 

As Product Innovation Manager, you have an opportunity to help shape our future innovation pipeline, with the support of an organization that is fuelled by a personal passion to help our customers and our consumers. We are ready to GET CLOSER and HELP them BETTER, are you? 

 

  • Your focus will be to drive product innovation in well-established medicines, which can occur in different forms – such as repurposing for new indications, reformulating to achieve better treatment outcomes, or combining two or more substances, or substances with digital services or devices, that can result in significant improvements in medical care and patient experience. 

  • You are responsible for developing innovation strategies, product ideas and claims, and for driving cross-functional teams in the delivery of these new products from idea to execution readiness stage.  

  • You are the ideal candidate if you have 3-5 years of experience in innovation project management, a demonstrated ability to build a multi-year pipeline by identifying, validating, and leading development of new product concepts, and the capability to lead multiple projects and cross-functional teams with speed, professionalism and creative-problem solving.  

 

These tasks await you

 

  • Lead product innovation strategies to expand our current portfolio of medicines (Rx and OTC), including annual definition of key challenges, opportunity areas and unmet needs in collaboration with our therapeutic area leadership and our customer-facing teams 

  • Consolidate and manage idea generation and sourcing of potential solutions for product improvements and for the defined key challenges 

  • Build and validate strong customer-driven propositions (consumers, patients, HCPs), concepts, business cases and manage innovation projects as an investment portfolio 

  • Lead projects and cross-functional teams (Medical, Marketing, Product Dev., Regulatory, IP) through the risk-reduction stage gates of the innovation journey (problem/solution validation sprints and proof of principles) 

  • Contribute to establish best practices for effective access to customers (insights, needs, experimentation and early adoption) in collaboration with our international customer-facing teams 

  • Represent pipelines and projects to a diversified audience (e.g. innovation governance meetings, partner engagements, innovation community) 

  • Effectively transfer validated business concepts to the execution organisation for product development and launch 

  • Participate to continuously building and developing an innovation culture across the organization 

 

What you bring with you

 

  • Minimum MS degree in Life Sciences, PhD or PharmD preferred 

  • MBA or additional business-oriented degree is an asset 

  • At least 5 years’ experience in innovation, strategic marketing, product management or brand management in the pharma/biotech industry or in related Life Sciences fields including start-up accelerators / venture building organisations 

  • Significant experience in building a multi-year pipeline by identifying, validating, and leading development of new product concepts with internal and external stakeholders 

  • Strong understanding of the therapeutic and consumer healthcare markets. Knowledge of the drug development process required. 

  • Strong Communicator & Connector: Ability to effectively work with and connect with all levels of colleagues across multiple functions using active listening skills and open mindset to understand needs. 

  • Team Player: Loves being part of a team, both leading and serving; demonstrated deep commitment to colleagues; highly effective in a matrix environment. 

  • Analyst & Simplifier: Ability to synthesize data from a variety of input sources, into a coherent whole/clear picture to define the problems and to design/deliver the appropriate solutions. 

  • Action Oriented & Accountable: “Can do” attitude; Ready to jump in and make immediate impact through positive, proactive nature, and high energy. Holds self to highest performance standards. 

  • Fluency in English is a must, additional languages are an asset
